Values & Commitments
Statement on Racism and Discrimination
For over 100 years, BGC Toronto Kiwanis has welcomed young people of all backgrounds and worked to create safe, inclusive spaces rooted in belonging, respect, and support. We stand firmly against racism, discrimination, and injustice, and we see firsthand how systemic barriers affect the youth and communities we serve.
We are committed to supporting young people impacted by these challenges, expanding safe spaces for BIPOC youth, and strengthening allyship through ongoing learning and action. By investing in youth and advocating for equity at all levels, we strive to break down barriers and create opportunities so every young person can thrive.
Truth and Reconciliation Commitment Statement
We understand that when Indigenous young people are supported, respected, and empowered, the strength and well-being of society as a whole is enhanced. We also recognize our responsibility to contribute meaningfully to Truth and Reconciliation by creating safe, inclusive, and transformative spaces where Indigenous youth can thrive.
Equally important, we are committed to fostering opportunities for Indigenous and non-Indigenous young people to learn, grow, and build new pathways together. By encouraging understanding, shared experiences, and mutual respect, we aim to support healing, strengthen relationships, and help shape a more equitable future grounded in collaboration, accountability, and reconciliation.
