2020 Volunteer of the Year – Nanda Gobin

April 18-24 is National Volunteer Week, and our Club is so excited to share about the incredible work of our 2020 Volunteer of the Year, Nanda Gobin.
In a particularly challenging year for everyone, our Club was incredibly lucky to have the support of so many passionate and talented volunteers who were prepared to roll up their sleeves and ensure that our Club was able to provide our programs and services to our community.
As unexpected and challenging as this year may have been, the Club’s ability to quickly pivot and address the changing needs of our community only speaks to the high caliber of your work and dedication.
Each day, BGC Toronto Kiwanis is supported by so many remarkable volunteers, who have donated their time to make our Club even stronger. An asset which we are infinitely grateful for.
I’m excited to share an incredible volunteer story from Nanda Gobin, our 2020 BGC Toronto Kiwanis Volunteer of the Year!
Our Club has always relied on the support of hard-working, and dedicated volunteers like Nanda, and even more so during a global Pandemic. When the Club closed its doors in March of 2020, our team struggled with the idea of so many members and their families being left without support during an unprecedented global crisis.
Our Club bus driver, Rick, and his lovely wife, Nanda, volunteered their time to ensure that the families we serve were supported. From delivering meals and gift cards, to providing PPE, Nanda (and Rick) supported our families during a time of uncertainty as we all adjusted to a new normal.
Nanda’s time, effort, and dedication to helping our organization did not go unnoticed. Her help ensured we could support our families in any way possible and continue to serve our communities during an unprecedented time.
BGC Toronto Kiwanis, thanks Nanda for all her hard work in the last year – her continued commitment to our members and families makes her an exemplary volunteer within our BGC Toronto Kiwanis community.
